I’m not going to share a sad story here (they’re in my books, lol), but here are a few things I’ve done over the years to become more at home with myself.
recognize and celebrate what you’re good at
forgive yourself always
cut off your negative self talk with an affirmation (mine this month is “I love and accept myself exactly as I am”) you can also say “I am learning to love and accept myself” if that feels more true to you.
release expectations of who you’re supposed to be or what you’re supposed to do. Journaling this out and then burning it would be a good exercise!
let go of the idea that you need to be “fixed” and accept yourself as you are. ‘I love and accept myself even though I ____’.
but also, face your weaknesses and old wounds. We cannot fully heal just by placing a bandaid over the cut. We need to clean it out. ✌
