play this at my funeral

one day you’re going to look back and
think goddamn i wish I had that and
you’ll be sitting in the desert sun watching your bones dry up
like the riverbed

I’ll be coming down in my bare bones and
pick me up then get me all alone and
I’ll be lying in the desert moon like I’ll never lose you

light one up like it’s going to be the last then
take your hands scratch them down my back and
you’ll be breathing in the desert heat like you’ll never lose me

we’ll watch the moon close her eyes and
you’ll tell me I should close mine and
we’ll be sitting in the desert blue like me and you do

wake me up when my sister comes and tell me
you’ll miss me something fierce

I’ll be going down in my bare bones and god,
you know I hate to leave you all alone but
I’ll be lying in the desert heat like you’ll never lose me you’ll be looking at the tall blue sky and
I’ll be looking the devil in the eyes and
we’ll be sitting in the desert sun watching our bones dry up
like the riverbed
