letting go is usually easy for me
I know that most people are temporary
that’s not a self-fulfilling prophecy
it’s just a natural thing
most people are not meant to stay
but you?
you are not a makeshift love
you are a mountain climb
limb over limb to the crown to watch the sunrise
you are the places I visit
not just once, but twice or more
because once wasn’t enough
you are late-night drinks while watching me dance then
pulling me in close and kissing my hand
my head
my hair and holding me so hard it hurts to let go
and letting go is usually easy for me but
you are dirty hands
bad habits
deep regret
tough shit and tenderness
you are
fiercely
madly
wildly
perfectly human
and you are everything I love about living
